Loan Periods

• Books, Audiobooks, and eReaders: 3 weeks
• DVDS: 1 week
• Music CDs: 1 week
• Magazines: 1 week

Item Limits

• You can check out 100 total items at a time!
• New release DVDs: 2 per card
• Regular DVDS: 5 per card
• Music CDs: 5 per card
• Magazines: 5 per card

Reciprocal Borrowing

The Ella Johnson Memorial Library allows people with cards from other libraries to borrow materials. The reciprocal borrower must be in good standing with their home library by having a current non-expired card and no fines.

Renewing Materials

Renewals

Library materials are usually, but not always, renewable. Non-renewable items include all new DVDs and CDs, interlibrary loan materials, materials on reserve for another patron, and materials that have already been renewed once.

Returning Materials

Books Drops

The library provides books drops in four locations:

• Hampshire – to the right of the library entrance
• Burlington – in front of the Post Office
• Pingree Grove – in front of the Fire Station
• Cambridge Lakes Community Center- at the entrance

Late Fees

Fines

There is a three day grace period for all print materials with the exception of interlibrary loans.

• The fine for overdue DVDs is $1.00 per day, per item.
• The fine for all other overdue materials is $.10 per day, per item.
• Non pick-up of holds after 5 days is $1.00 fine per item.

All library items may be reserved with the exception of magazines.

Interlibrary Loan

Material not owned by the Ella Johnson Library may be ordered through interlibrary loan. The library is a member of the Prairie Area Library System, which is the primary source for interlibrary loan material. For instructions on making an Interlibrary Loan request please click here.
