PrairieCat

PrairieCat is an online library catalog that includes over 8 million resources from 190 libraries across northern Illinois and eastern Iowa. These resources include library online magazine/journal resources, library reference sources, websites and more. Ella Johnson library cardholders can place holds, renew and check their account online.

First Search

First Search offers electronic access to full text and abstracts of journal articles and scholarly publications, Internet resources, and index to journal articles. Items located in FirstSearch that are not full text can be ordered through the Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library interlibrary loan service. Requests can be made in person, by telephone, or by e-mail.

Gale Virtual Reference

Gale Virtual Reference Library provides access to a world of reliable information for students, academics, and the general public. Over 350 works of reference material in e-book format can be accessed through this link. Each one is fully searchable. This includes titles in areas such as arts, biography, business, history, law, literature, medicine, geography, religion, science, technology, and more.

Small Business Resource Center

Search this database to learn how to start, finance or manage your small business. Resources include sample business plans, how to guides, articles and websites.

Reference USA provides access to more than 20 million US businesses and 222 million consumers. It is a great resource for jo seekers, students, and researchers. Reference USA is available in the library or from any remote location using the barcode found on your library card.

Illinois Public Records

Record Information Services provides access to public and marketing-oriented data for the Chicagoland area including Kane and many of the surrounding counties for personal and business use. Searchable databases includes new homeowners, new businesses, new and previously recorded mortgages, bankruptcies and foreclosures.
