Scent-Sensitive Workplace
The library strives to be a safe, healthy, and productive environment for everyone. Strong fragrances, including perfumes, colognes, and heavily scented lotions, can cause significant health issues for individuals with asthma, severe allergies, chemical sensitivities, migraines, or other physical vulnerabilities. To ensure all staff and visitors can be in the library and work without discomfort or adverse physical reaction, the library building is designated a "Fragrance-Free Zone".
Staff and visitors are asked to refrain from applying or wearing scented products while in the library, including but not limited to:
• Perfumes and colognes
• Body sprays and body mists
• Scented lotions and body creams
• Strongly scented hair products (hairspray, mousse)
• Scented essential oils
• Air fresheners or aerosol sprays
Minimal Scent Policy: Please ensure that any personal care products (soaps, deodorants) used before coming to the library are low-scent or unscented.
No Spraying: Do not use aerosol products or body sprays inside the library.
Voluntary Compliance: The library board appreciates everyone’s cooperation in creating a safe space for those with environmental sensitivity.
